St Andrew’s under-15 B cricket team took on Jacobsdal in their league final on Friday and powered their way to the title, claiming a 10-wicket victory on the Cabbage Patch, with Thomas de Lange enjoying an outstanding game.
With Saint Andrew’s fielding first, he captured 3 for 3 with the ball as Jacobsdal managed just 58 all out.
Liam-Scott Smith performed well too, picking up 2 for 2 and Ishaq Khan took 2 for 17 as the Saints’ bowlers dominated.
Then, with Saint Andrew’s chasing only 59 to win, Thomas tore into the Jacobsdal attack. He cracked eight fours from only 10 balls to finish on 33 not out, while Rayhaan Hoosain contributed an unbeaten 12 from 18 deliveries as Saints raced to a lopsided victory.
