The Saint Andrew’s 2nd XV played with guts, but a lack of preparation told as they went down 0-31 to Union High in their first match of the season in Graaff Reinet on Saturday, 9 March.

The team had been brought together only a matter of days before the game, but they showed good spirit, said Saint Andrew’s Director of Rugby, Lieben Pietersen.

“They tackled hard and played up to the final whistle.”

With regular practice and the regular season about the start, he expects to see rapid improvement from the Seccies.
