Saint Andrew’s swimmers were in superb form at the Free State Schools Championships, held in Bloemfontein over the weekend, with four boys – Fabio Santos, Andro Louw, Chad Moutzouris and Liam Schweitzer – qualifying to represent Free State at the SA Schools Championships the Hillcrest Swimming Pool in Pretoria from 8 – 13 December. Between the four of them, they won 15 gold medals, two silvers and two bronze medals.

Swimming in the 16-years-of-age group, Fabio Santos did the treble in the breaststroke, claiming gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m. He also added
bronze medals in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Andro Louw also powered his way to three victories, swimming in the 15-year age group, with his wins coming in the 100m backstroke, 200m
breaststroke and 200m individual medley. He had two runner-up finishes, too, in the 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke.

Chad Moutzouris continued his torrid form of recent galas by capturing five gold medals in five events in the 14-year age group. He was victorious
in the 200m and 400m freestyle, 100m and 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly.

Liam, who contested the 11-12 age group, posted four wins in his four events, taking titles in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and freestyle
and 200m backstroke.

Congratulations, gents, on a set of outstanding results!
