Saint Andrew’s sprinter Limpho Mpopo starred at the recent Nedbank JP Botha Athletics meeting, claiming a gold and a silver medal in under-14 competition.
He powered his way to a convincing victory in the 200 metres in a meeting record of 24.04 seconds. He then finished second in the 100 metres, clocking 12.16 seconds, just 0.06 behind the winner.
Earlier this year, Limpho represented Free State at the Junior National Championships. He made the final of the 100m and 200m and finished sixth in both events.
He also represented the Free State under-13 rugby team and the Free State under-13 Sevens Team. In addition, he also earned his Southern Free State colours for hockey.
