St Andrew’s Colts took on Grey A in the final of the T20 League at Grey on Wednesday, having recently beaten the same team by 60 runs. Unfortunately, Saints were not at their best on the day and went down by 27 runs.

Fielding first, Saints bowled tidily enough, restricting Grey to 109 for 5 in their 20 overs. A couple of missed catches on the boundary might have made the target they had to chase more manageable, but it was a decent effort nonetheless. Liam Doherty performed well, picking up 2 for 10 in his four overs of seam, while Schalk

Liebenberg snapped up 2 for 14 in three with his leg-spin.

The Colts got off to a poor start in their reply, losing three wickets in quick succession at the top of the order. From there they floundered and were bowled out for a disappointing 82. Captain Joe Meyer top scored with 20, while Johnny du Plessis was unbeaten on 19 at the end.

Colts 82 all out (J. Meyer 20, J. du Plessis 19*)
