Akey Yu, from St Andrew’s School in Bloemfontein, was recognised before Chapel on Friday for his participation in a Physical Sciences programme for selected learners at the ICT Laboratory at the Faculty of Education at the University of the Free State over the course of the past three years. Marc van der Nest, the Deputy
Head Boy presented him with a certificate for the university.
Akey is one of the top academics in the matric class, one of just three boys to be awarded a Scholar’s Badge in 2019. To qualify for a Scholar’s Badge, a learner has to average above 85 percent for successive exams, starting in the third term of their grade 11 year.
Well done, Akey, and we trust the matric final exams are going well!
