Grey College Primary swimming team was really a team to be reckoned with – in and out of the pool.  57 Of our swimmers qualified for the Free state Gala on 14 & 15 February

Our swimmers put all their passion, determination and hard work to the test and shattered 11 records at this meet!! 26 First places, 18 second places and 24 third places were obtained!

Jedrick Geleta (9&u) broke the 50m Free record with a time of 36.42 as well as the 50m Back record with a time of 44.58.

As predicted, Connor Reinders (11&u) broke three records: Firstly he bettered the 200m IM with 4 seconds to finish with a time of 3.00.08. He also broke the records of the 50mBreast with a time of 42.42 and the 100m Breast with  1.34.26

The 11&u Relay team needs special mentioning as they broke not only the 11&u Freestyle Relay record but bettered the Medley Relay record with nearly 13 seconds with their time of 2.40.38!

Grey ended the day by winning the 11&u Best Swimmer Award as well as the Victor Ludormn. Both these trophies were awarded to Canaan Brice.

A Free State team going to the South African Championships in April will be announced before 20 March 2017. We trust that our Grey boys will also make their distinctive GREY mark there!
